RX-220 is a software receiver for amateur radio. It supports decoding of RTTY, SSTV, AM, FM and digital voice modes as well as packet communications. In its current version, it can transmit and receive signals. The RX-220 performs radio frequency (RF) signal processing in software controlled by a 16-bit DSP. The DSP is 1.75 times faster than TI's TMS320C6713, and it can handle digital I/Q samples at a rate of up to 750 MSamples/sec. The RX-220 employs a high performance conventional channel decoder architecture with a programmable channel decoder data path that allows the user to define custom channel decoder operations for any mode not included in the standard mode set. This feature makes it possible for the receiver to decode as broad as possible range of radioteletype and digital voice modes that are not supported by the stock firmware. RX-220 is a cross-platform application. It works under Windows, OS X and Linux. RX-220 hardware consists of a dual core, Cortex A9-based microcontroller, a custom high speed serial interface to the DSP device and a USB port to connect external components such as an audio codec. In addition to standard amateur radio bands from 160 meters through 10 meters, RX-220 supports 2 meter and 70 centimeter amateur radio bands as well as ham band between 2 and 4 GHz using the optional external Cactus RF frontend. The RX-220 software is based on GNU Radio 3 core and it is maintained by the user community at the GitHub repository . The current version of the RX-220 software is available for Windows (Windows XP SP3, Vista, 7, 8), Linux (x86-32 and x86-64) and Mac OS X (Intel only). The RX-220 is built around Texas Instruments' RFMD RFM95W LoRa wireless transceiver ARM Cortex A9 + GNU Radio 3/4 + TI E2E DSP = The RX-220 RX-220 Hardware Documentation - This link provides information about RX-220 hardware in addition to detailed assembly instructions.
